Gold Label Hydrocorn is the inert hydroponics substrate of choice for professionals. The 8-16 mm size provides stability and the unique uneven shape of the pebble is an ideal surface for roots and beneficial bacteria. The porous structure has a high water capacity and is suitable for both ebb/flood and top irrigation systems. Gold Label Hydrocorn is also available in 4-8mm and 16-25mm.

Before using:
- It is important to thoroughly rinse your pebbles to remove any sand and wash off all remaining residues.
- It is recommended that you always check the pH level.Put some pebbles in a glass of water with adjusted pH to 6.0. Stir well and let it rest.Measure the pH. If it is high (7.0 or higher), soak the pebbles overnight in a solution of phosphoric or nitric acid (or pH Down liquid or powder). Then rinse thoroughly before using. If your Grorox is neutral, wash it profusely and rinse it well.
After the harvest:
- It is generally sufficient to wash off all organic debris and rinse well.
- If needed, in case of insect or fungi infestation, it is recommended to disinfect the pebbles. To do so, soak in strong acid (or pH Down). Let them soak overnight. Rinse very thoroughly to wash the acid off completely.
Clay pebbles can be mixed with other media too.
There are several possible combinations : in hydroponics mix with pouzzolane or lava rocks; and in soil, mix with earth, perlite or vermiculite.
A great advantage to using Grorox is that, unlike rockwool, it is harmless to humans, reusable, and non-polluting. It is natural and can be used several times, from crop to crop.To discard, it can be recycled in your garden to lighten the soil.
